The world of science and technology propels humanity forward. The maturity of individual generations is assessed according to the achievements of the world of technology. All this is due to ingenuity, curiosity, and skill. The children who participated in this year's competition for the Young Technician title also have these qualities.
The competition focused on the creativity and technical skills of children in different age categories and has been part of the ProTech project since the beginning of its implementation. It was launched in 2006. Every school year, children prepare their products, which are divided into several groups according to the material used.
Young Technician is a competition intended for individuals, groups, and children with their parents between the ages of 6 and 10 and children between 10 and 15.
The competition is in the categories of kit works, lego constructions, products made of wood, paper, cardboard, and metal, model creations, technical toy, i.e., improvers that can serve as a technological teaching aid, folding origami, and the last category was a specialized task or assignment for students II-grade of primary schools.
In addition to evaluating the best works in each category, special awards were also presented for the best school in the technical field, the best student or team that received the title of Mini technician, Junior technician, and Young technician. The work and products of the children were evaluated by an expert jury, which included experts Lukáš Dragošek and Milan Škrobian from the scientific workplace of the Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics SAS – INOVAL in Žiar nad Hronom.
