ResearchGate (RG) is a social networking site for scientists and researchers to share papers, ask and answer questions, and find collaborators. It is the largest academic social network in terms of active users - about 15 million.1
The Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) currently has 1,558 registered members and 14,000 shared documents with a typical reads of all works at the level of approximately 15,000 views per week.2 The RG reports weekly an overview of the reads and other statistics of SAS members.3
It is gratifying that IMMS SAS has a regular representation among the top ten publications of the SAS (Top publications by reads) and the top ten popular members of the SAS this year. In 80% (28/36) of this year's statistical evaluations of SAS on RG on a weekly basis, among the most read works of SAS and also among popular members of SAS were work(s) and members of our institute (Fig.). The most read works of the IMMS SAS regularly belong to the first thousandth of the most read works of the SAS (10/14000) and the IMMS SAS members belong to the first hundredth (10/1558) of the most popular members of the SAS. The most read IMMS SAS documents have regularly about 100 views per week. An average read of SAS member works is approximately one read per work and week (~ 15,000 reads/14,000 publications). The average reads of the IMMS SAS works is well above the average reads of the SAS, around four reads per work and week (approx. 500 reads/130 publications).4
