The technology for preparation of aluminium foam was optimised and foam's properties were characterised. Special attention was paid to: verification of technological procedures for large scale production and secondary treatment; study of the structure and possibilities of its affecting by the technological process; determination of the most important mechanical and physical properties and their dependence on the structure and finally to the assessment of the advantages of the use of aluminium foam for the innovation of structural components in mechanical and civil engineering.
