Ten young high school students from among the best competitors of "Chemical olympiad, category D" competition came on March 2, 2018 for an excursion to the Institute of Materials and Mechanics SAS. They visited laboratory of microstructural analysis of materials, where they had the opportunity to look closely at the whole process of microstructural analysis, from the preparation of the sample to up to the characterization of material using light and electron microscopes. A number of inquisitive questions testified that the excursion had fulfilled its purpose.
