Development of the methodology of continuous monitoring of the fatigue damage in operation with random nature of the load

Project start:01.01.2012
Project end:31.12.2014
Programme:VEGA
Project number:2/0181/12
Institute position in the project:The only one project investigator
Project leader:Vladimír Kliman
The aim of the project is to develop a system that enables continuous monitoring of fatigue-damage in critical spots of the construction in operation with the random nature of the loading. The result of a solution of the project should be a model, which enables, on the basis of measurement of the time course of deformation at a critical point of construction, in real time to calculate the characteristics needed for the assessment of the reliable operation of the structure from the material’s fatigue perspective (fatigue damage accumulation in probabilistic interpretation, change the probability of premature fatigue-failure occurrence when the non-standard load situation occurs, the current residual fatigue-life, the probability of survival of the desired service life, etc.). The scientific contribution lies in the introduction of the probability approaches to the calculation of the parameters necessary for the evaluation of fatigue reliability of structure.
