Project leader:Stanislav Kúdela
Short-fiber reinforced Mg-Li and Mg-Li-Zn matrix composites will be fabricated by the gas pressure infiltration of fibrous preform (Saffil) in labor autoclave. The composition of matrix alloys will correspond to two-phase hcp+bcc structure in which either solution hardening or precipitation hardening will operate. Structural variables of fibrous component will be its volume fraction and the space orientation. Deformation behavior of compression loaded alloys and composites will be studied at different temperatures (20-200°C) relating to their structure. Deformation and strengthening mechanisms operating in composites studied will be analyzed in terms of their synergy.
