Science Fair 2022

On September 23, 2022, the Science Fair's fifth edition took place on the square of M.R. Štefánik near the Eurovea shopping center in Bratislava.
The event was organized under the auspices of the former Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sports Juraj Draxler and the vice-rector of FMFI UK, prof. RNDr. Jozef Masaryk, Ph.D.
The Science Fair aims to bring science closer to primary and secondary school students in a playful way and to show them that science is all around us.
In the current year of the fair, IMSAS brought children and students closer to their daily work in a fun and interactive way. Students could measure the force needed to break various materials such as wood or pressed sugar thanks to a mechanical test in three-point bending.
Another interesting thing at the IMSAS stands this year was the SUGAR theme, which was a huge success among the children. By making cotton candy, we demonstrated the production of nanofibers to young visitors. The produced fibers could then be examined under a microscope.
We were extremely pleased with the student's interest and are already looking forward to the next year.
