R&D and innovation network MatNet (Virtual Institute) has been created by cooperation of R&D institutions from the Slovak Academy of Sciences, universities and R&D institutions from industrial sector in the Bratislava region engaged in R&D of engineering materials and advanced technologies for their production, processing and joining. The conditions for close cooperation between academic and industrial R&D have been created within the network MatNet. The information activities have been implemented for support of increasing interest of the business sphere in the results of R&D and promote the transfer of new advanced technologies in manufacturing practice.
