The objective of the IMPRESS Integrated Project is to understand the critical link between material processing, material structure and material properties of novel higher performance of intermetallic alloys. The new knowledge generated will lead to sustainable products for extreme applications; namely turbine blades and catalytic devices. From the point of application in engineering practice, the project is focused on development of: (i) reliable technology of precise casting of high quality and cost effective components for stationary gas turbines and aircraft engines and (ii) optimal chemical composition and processing of intermetallic powders for catalytic applications.
